Each year thousands of people make their
way to Texas in pursuit of leisure and exceptional recreational activities. And while the beauty of Texas is
legendary, what you may not realize is that nestled in the northern
section of this
splendid state, is Sanger...
"Superbly Situated!"
|
Established in the
early 1870's as a stop on the Sante Fe Railroad.
Cattle from the ranches
of north Denton County had been driven up the old cattle trails through
the site of Sanger to northern markets.
|
|
The town was laid out on land owned by Mrs. Elizabeth Huling. Lots were
sold. The F. M. Ready family, the first to settle in Sanger, came in
October 1887, the same year as the first engine and caboose.
